How to Check a FiveM Script Is Safe and Legit (Avoid Bans)
How to verify a FiveM script you bought is genuine, licensed and safe — no ban risk or hidden malicious code.
A common problem in the scene is pirated or leaked scripts, which risk copyright bans and sometimes ship hidden malicious code. Here's how to check before you buy or install.
Check the source
- Buy from the developer directly or a shop with a clear identity and support (e.g. Discord)
- Be wary of free files claiming to be a famous shop's work — usually leaks
Check the licensing
- Good scripts use a server-bound license key, not a copy-and-run-anywhere file
- Look for ongoing updates and versioning, not a dead unmaintained file
Check the code safety
- Beware fully obfuscated files with no provenance, or odd external code loading
- Config files should be editable; the core may be protected (escrow) — normal for licensed products
